Currents of the Ocean This map of the world and oceans has details of the currents with arrows showing the direction of flow of the various currents and gyres as well as the counter currents. The narrowest and therefore most intense are in the regions where the currents are curving close to a point of land as in the straits of Florida where the stream squeezes between the Florida Keys and Cuba in the south and between Florida and the Bahamas on the east. Published in The Comprehensive Atlas and Geography of the World, Blackie and Son, Glascow, Edinburgh and London. 1880-1883. |
